What is the Turtle Homes Alliance?
The Turtle Homes Alliance is a network of individuals, small groups, and large organizations actively involved in rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, or conservation of turtles and tortoises. We all work together under the Alliance in pursuit of one common purpose – to help turtles and tortoises.
Turtle Homes itself was formed in 1998. Shortly after, we began to collaborate with other, similar organizations. From that original group, the Alliance was born. Since then, it has evolved into something very different and very special. Alliance members operate locally, regionally, nationally, and some internationally.
Some of the things we do include sharing information on rehabilitation techniques, conducting adoptions between organizations, coordinating rescue activities, organizing both small and large scale confiscations, managing conservation efforts, and brainstorming on special projects.
As we grow and more organizations join us, the more effective the Alliance will be in achieving its goals. As one force, with one voice, we can accomplish more together than we can separately, and have a greater impact on the plight of turtles and tortoises nationally and worldwide.
