Turtle Homes Asia
For the Breeding, Adoption, and Conservation of Asian Chelonians
Turtle Homes Asia is a branch of Turtle Homes Rescue Inc. that focusing on the plight of Asian turtles in the wild and in captivity. Many
species are rapidly declining in the wild due to habitat loss and over-collection for food markets and the pet trade.
Several of these species respond poorly to captivity and prove difficult to breed. Turtle Homes Asia is involved in taking active steps towards creating viable captive breeding populations of threatened Asian turtles. Using food market rescues and donated animals Turtle Homes Asia places these turtles with experienced keepers, organizations, and institutions in the hope that they will successfully reproduce in captivity. The offspring from these breeding groups can be used to help satiate pet trade demands, increase bloodlines, and perhaps someday be released into the wild. Captivity will preserve these species for now, giving time to create programs that will allow them to be introduced into suitable habitat in the future. Please help us save these creatures that belong in the wild for our children to see. Humans are helping to cause the extinction of many species and now humans must fight to save them. |
