COPPA
Law
Turtle Homes cares about the safety and privacy of children online. Because
of this, we fully comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of
1998
(COPPA). COPPA and the FTC regulation established a US Federal law
that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. We offer the
following for the protection of children under 18: Turtle Homes will not
collect online contact information from a user under 18. All adoption
applications must be filled out using a parent's email address and contain a
phone number where a parent may be contacted directly. Verbal permission must
be given for all children under the age of 18. Online contact information
will only be used to directly respond to the child's request, and will not be
used to contact the child for any other purposes.
No contact information
for children under the age of 18 will be used as the
contact information for adoption, a parental email address must be used for
this purpose. Contact information will never be sold or reproduced without
the express permission of the parents.
