Exact Search:
You have found a native turtle that has no signs of illness or injury. If you have picked it up in order to assist it across the road, please point it in the direction it was heading and let it go on it's way.

If you have found this turtle in your yard you can release it back into the wild safely. Be sure to let it go within 5 miles of where it was found and in a natural area free of excessive human disturbances. If it is a water turtle you must place it in the nearest body of water. If it is a land turtle such as a box turtle they need to be released in a wooded area where they can disappear under cover.

If you fear there is no safe location within 5 miles of where it was found you can turn the turtle into your nearest Wildlife Center, rehabber, or contact us and we will direct you to where you can find one.
